Nové Město na Moravě is a significant regional centre of the Českomoravská vrchovina and as its touristic importance grows, so does the need to improve public services and amenities. The new terminal joins railway and bus transport into one place – at the existing railway station in the northeast part of the city. The original building from the 1900’s was completely renovated and modernized (passenger facilities as well as operational space) [00241], the platforms were newly covered with a light steel construction and in front of the station, 5 new bus stops (3 sheltered) were created as well as 4 parking lots for buses and P+R parking for cars. The new terminal represents a dignified modern ”city gate”. The terminal is a part of a wider transport conception of the city and in the future it should be one of three hubs of the whole system.
